Julio Calvo is a Spanish photographer based in Northern Spain.

In the late 90s, Julio started shooting editorial assignments documenting life in the high mountain villages of Spain. From there he traveled all over Europe, chronicling the inhabitants of Europe’s small towns and cities.

His investigation of the living and performing arts have laid the groundwork for more creative endeavors.

Recently, Julio has embarked on exploring concept-based fine art; often creating diptychs that delve into symbolism, textures, and the interaction of form and human emotions
